From St. Eustatius’ Government Information Service
The Executive Council of St. Eustatius has decided to withdraw the decision to amend the Spatial Development Plan, based on the decision by Nustar to withdraw the building permit application. The Spatial Development Plan reverts back to it’s original zoning rules and any new projects in the Cul de Sac area will have to comply with procedural rules that are outlined in the Spatial Development Plan.
The Executive Council of St. Eustatius was formally requested to grant permission for an expansion of the existing Nustar oil terminal in the area of the Cul de Sac in 2011. The request initiated a series of formal procedures including applications for building, Hindrance permits and planning permissions as well as an amendment of the current Spatial Development Plan.
