Minister Verhagen of Economic Affairs, Agriculture and Innovation (EL&I) will be visiting the Dutch Caribbean from Monday 9th until Friday July 13th. He will hold talks on Saba, St. Eustatius and Bonaire about energy supply and the stimulation of the economy of the islands.
On Tuesday July 10th Minister Verhagen will talk with the Island Governor and Commissioners ofSt. Eustatius. Besides, he will meet with Island Council members of Saba as well asSt. Eustatius. The improvement of the investment climate will be central in the discussions with representatives of the businesses, banks and members of the Economic Development Team. The Minister will sign an agreement with Windward Islands Bank whereby more bank credit will become available for businesses in the medium- and small enterprise, fishermen and farmers.
On Wednesday July 12th on St. Eustatius he will visit the oil bunkering company Nustar and will view the location which is eligible for the placing of windmills which can make an important contribution for the energy supply on the island.
